Department Head – Supervision of Investment Firms (m/f)

Mission

As part of the implementation of the management succession plan within the Supervision of Investment Firms (EI) department, the CSSF is seeking a full-time Head of Department (m/f).

Role & responsibilities

  • Organises, leads and supervises the department’s activities and projects, ensuring, in particular, that the necessary information is shared and that deliverables are of a high standard;
  • Supervises, coordinates and manages the members of their department;
  • Represents the department and its areas of activity both within the CSSF and externally, at both national and international levels, undertaking the related preparatory, coordination, monitoring and reporting tasks;
  • Keeps senior management informed of any sensitive matters or issues of significance to the financial centre;
  • Advises senior management on the strategic directions to be adopted by the CSSF;
  • Identifies risks associated with the department’s activities and takes appropriate measures to prevent or mitigate them;
  • Ensures the smooth running of the department and constructive interaction with other stakeholders, including Business Area B departments and other CSSF departments and functions;
  • Ensures compliance with deadlines, commitments, obligations and procedures binding on the department and the CSSF;
  • Contributes to the ongoing development of the department with a view to improving its efficiency and productivity.

Your profile

  • A university degree (Bac +4 / Bac +5) in law, economics, finance or business administration and management;
  • Proven professional experience in management and financial sector supervision (in the field of investment firms);
  • Good knowledge of the regulatory framework, preferably that applicable to investment firms and entities involved with them;
  • Very good written and spoken command of French, English and German, and a good spoken command of Luxembourgish;
  • Good managerial, writing, analytical and summarising skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects running in parallel;
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Flexibility and a sense of initiative;
  • Proven experience in team management and the ability to work independently.

The successful candidate (m/f) will be hired as public employee (“employé de l’Etat”) under a permanent contract. If the candidate meets the required conditions, s/he will be asked to apply for admission to the status of civil servant (“fonctionnaire de l’Etat”).

Prior to the conclusion of the contract, the candidate must submit an extract from the criminal record (bulletin n°3), dated less than 2 months, in order to prove their conduct and integrity.
