Data Specialist (m/f)

Role & responsibilities

  • Develop new databases, monitor database performance and interpret raw data to transform it into information and applications usable by the business
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the data retrieval system to optimize data flows and guarantee optimum use of data
  • Manage, administer and optimize databases and the infrastructures that host them; Ensure data consistency, quality and security
  • Provide technical support and assistance to data users
  • Maintain a technology watch to provide innovative solutions in line with business needs

Your profile

  • Minimum degree required: BAC + 3 or more in computer science (Bachelor or Master degree)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Good knowledge of information systems architecture, database administration (Microsoft SQL Server in particular), programming languages (Powershell, SQL language in particular) and BI tools (PowerBI, SSRS and SSIS), on Windows servers including clustering and monitoring of these systems
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, python, SPARK, Azure, DevOps release management and big data concepts are considered an advantage
  • Proactive, rigorous, methodical and committed to obtaining high-quality, accurate and useful data
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time, work under pressure, organize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Good writing, analytical and summarizing skills
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and French. Knowledge of Luxembourgish and German will be considered as an asset

The successful candidate (m/f) will be hired as public employee (“employé de l’Etat”) under a permanent contract. If the candidate meets the required conditions, s/he will be asked to apply for admission to the status of civil servant (“fonctionnaire de l’Etat”).

Prior to the conclusion of the contract, the candidate must submit an extract from the criminal record (bulletin n°3), dated less than 2 months, in order to prove their conduct and integrity.
