Intern in Prudential Supervision of investment funds (UCITS, UCI, SIF, SICAR) (m/f)

Mission

You will join the Prudential Supervision II division (SPII) within the department Prudential Supervision and Risk management within the Métier OPC.

The division SPII is primarily responsible for the following activities:

  • Reviewing the closing documents (namely annual reports, management letters, self-assessment questionnaires and separate reports, as provided for, in particular, by Circular CSSF 21/790) of investment funds (UCITS, UCIs, SIFs, and SICARs), including exceptions and issues raised by approved statutory auditors, with a particular focus on more complex and critical cases based on a risk-based approach; and
  • Preparing thematic analyses on key topics related to the investment fund sector.

Our objective is to provide you with an insight into the prudential supervision of investment funds and, more specifically, to introduce you to the analyses carried out in this context.

The internship is scheduled to start in January 2026 and will last for six months. An internship agreement is required for the entire duration of the internship period. You will be supported by a dedicated professional mentor who will guide and advise you throughout your internship.

Role & responsibilities

  • Contribute to the division's work relating to the analysis of findings / irregularities identified at the level of investment funds and/or their investment fund managers/service providers, based in particular on fund’s closing documents and internally available information, including:
    • Drafting detailed analytical notes on identified findings/issues and specific risks, which may relate to areas such as governance, valuation, net asset value (NAV) calculation, investment restrictions, expenses and income, disclosures, etc.
    • Preparing analytical notes/reports on thematic analyses based on collected data and information
  • Contribute to the preparation of statistics and dashboards, as well as to the development of analytical tools related to the division's activities, including the refinement and enhancement of these tools and the drafting of procedures dedicated to their use.

Your profile

  • Final-year university student pursuing a Master's degree (Master 2) in Economics, Finance, and/or Management. A specialisation or strong interest in Business Intelligence is considered as an asset
  • Strong interest in investment funds, finance, data analysis, and quantitative approaches
  • Excellent written and spoken command of French and English. Knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI. Basic knowledge of SQL is considered as an asset
  • Strong writing, analytical, synthesis, and communication skills
  • Critical thinking, rigor, strong organisational skills and a high level of discretion
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
