Head of Department – Internal Audit (m/f)

Role & responsibilities

  • Organize, supervise and manage the internal audit department (planning, resources, evaluation, etc.)
  • Preparing the annual audit plan using a risk-based approach
  • Report to the Board of Directors on both audit and advisory engagements according to the audit plan
  • Supervise the evaluation, as part of an objective, rigorous and impartial approach, of the compliance of operations, the level of risk actually incurred, compliance with procedures as well as the effectiveness and appropriateness of the permanent control environment
  • Ensure compliance with internal methodologies and international standards for the professional practice of internal auditing
  • Maintain the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP)
  • Ensure the competence of internal auditors, their compliance with the code of ethics and their continuous training
  • Ensure regular monitoring of the implementation of action plans
  • Represent the CSSF at international institutions with regard to the activity of the department and assume the related preparation and follow-up work

Your profile

  • Master’s Degree (Bac +4 / Bac +5)
  • Proven professional experience of at least 12 years in the field of internal audit
  • CIA and CISA certifications would be considered a strong asset
  • Experience in team management
  • Excellent knowledge of internal audit techniques
  • Command of common office tools
  • Proficiency in written and spoken French and English. Knowledge of German and Luxembourgish will be considered as an advantage
  • Proactive, rigorous and methodical in work
  • Good knowledge of risk management and project management
  • Good managerial, writing, analysis and synthesis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files in parallel
  • Sense of priorities and ability to make and assume decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sense of responsibility and discretion

The successful candidate (m/f) will be hired as public employee (“employé de l’Etat”) under a permanent contract. If the candidate meets the required conditions, s/he will be asked to apply for admission to the status of civil servant (“fonctionnaire de l’Etat”).

Prior to the conclusion of the contract, the candidate must submit an extract from the criminal record (bulletin n°3), dated less than 2 months, in order to prove their conduct and integrity.
