Accounting and sustainability information expert (m/f)

Role & responsibilities

  • As a member of the « Accounting, Auditing and Transparency » department, you will
    • Contribute to accounting matters at the international level (a.o. analysis and synthesis of working documents, contribution to comment letters/opinions/guidelines, response to surveys/questionnaires/public consultations, cross-department coordination, …)
    • Participate in national and international accounting working groups at the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS), the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the Luxembourg Commission des normes comptables (CNC)
    • Monitor and analyse the development of sustainability information (environmental, social and governance) and participate in the CSSF’s internal group « Sustainable Finance »
    • Contribute to the CSSF’s accounting projects (impact analyses, drafting of legal texts, circulars, regulations and technical papers, …)
    • Advise on specific accounting issues and handle requests from other CSSF departments or external stakeholders
    • Animate training courses in the accounting area

Your profile

  • Master’s degree (Bac+4/Bac+5) in Economics, Finance or Business Administration and Management
  • Professional experience of at least 3 to 5 years in external audit or accounting and/or specialisation in accounting/IFRS
  • Strong technical accounting skills, both practical and theoretical, in IFRS and LUX GAAP
  • Keen interest in sustainable finance and non-financial information
  • Solid knowledge of the national accounting legislation
  • Excellent writing and strong analytical skills, ability to synthesise and communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and French; knowledge of German or Luxembourgish will be considered as an advantage
  • Sense of rigour and precision, organised and capacity to tackle complex and multi-faceted issues swiftly and within given deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Availability for international travel

The successful candidate (m/f) will be hired as public employee (“employé de l’Etat”) under a permanent contract. If the candidate meets the required conditions, s/he will be asked to apply for admission to the status of civil servant (“fonctionnaire de l’Etat”).

Prior to the conclusion of the contract, the candidate must submit an extract from the criminal record (bulletin n°3), dated less than 2 months, in order to prove their conduct and integrity.
